important dates

Please join us and apply to our 2025-2027 Cohort this Fall in our Early Bird Round, which will open on September 11th, 2024, and close on December 1st, 2024.

For your planning purposes, we process applications and interview candidates on a rolling basis. Due to the limited number of clinic partnerships, it is beneficial for applicants to submit their applications as early as possible. Those who have applied during the Early Bird Application are also eligible for matching in the Main Round.

Important note: While we encourage all students to review the application, we only read applications in a given year for those who are seniors or those who have already obtained a bachelor’s degree. Please wait to formally apply until your senior year as we will be looking for your most relevant, current, and comprehensive undergraduate experiences. If you are a freshman, sophomore, or junior, we look forward to getting to know you in the future!

application components

Demographic information

We ask detailed demographic questions to gauge how we are living up to our organizational standards to recruit a diverse set of Fellows and create equal access to our fellowship. Answers to questions are not used in the evaluation of your application.

3 two hundred and fifty word extracurricular or work/internship experiences

Tell us about your top 3 significant extracurricular or meaningful work/internship experiences. We want to hear about experiences where you were able to spend significant time, perhaps make an impact, or be impacted yourself. These experiences do not need to be healthcare-related.

4 five hundred word essays

1) Tell us about your proudest achievement or a time where you built something or made a significant contribution. 2) Why would you like to participate in the MedServe Fellowship? 3) Why do you potentially want to be a healthcare professional? What do you think is the most important thing a healthcare professional does, and why would you like to do that? 4) Tell us about a meaningful service experience you have had, a time when you connected with someone who is different from you, or a time you helped solve a social or community problem.

Resume

We require applicants to upload a .pdf of their resume.

Transcripts

We require a .pdf of your university transcript (either official or unofficial). This must include your cumulative GPA. If you have completed graduate coursework or post bacc curriculum, please include this transcript as well.

Professional photo

Photos are used for clinics to help ID candidates if they come to visit later in the application process and for promotional materials.

2 Letters of Recommendation

We strongly recommend that at least one letter come from an individual in the healthcare field or health-related work and at least one letter come from a professional or extracurricular reference rather than an academic professor. Recommendations are due at the application deadline (Early Bird Dec. 1st 11:59 PM or Main Round Feb. 15th 11:59 PM). You will be notified by email once MedServe has received your application and the minimum two letters of recommendations to consider your application complete and begin processing your application. Applicants may submit an optional third recommendation.

nondiscrimination policy

MedServe is committed to a policy of equal treatment and opportunity in our interactions with our applicants, corps members, and staff members without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, marital status, military status, pregnancy, parenthood, or any other identity protected by applicable law.
