2019-2020 important dates

We release and accept applications as early as October 1st. A link to the application will be available on this page on that date. After beginning an application, applicants are able to save their progress and return at a later time. We process applications and extend offers on a rolling basis. Demographic information

We ask detailed demographic questions to gauge how we are living up to our organizational standards to recruit a diverse set of Fellows and create equal access to our fellowship. Answers to questions are not used in the evaluation of your application.

3 two hundred and fifty word extracurricular or work/internship experiences

Tell us about your top 3 significant extracurricular or meaningful work/internship experiences. We want to hear about experiences where you were able to spend significant time, perhaps make an impact, or be impacted yourself. These experiences do not need to be healthcare-related.

4 five hundred word essays

Tell us about 1) your proudest achievement 2) why you want to participate in the fellowship 3) what has drawn you to a career in medicine 4) a meaningful service experience, connection, or problem-solving experience. Note: essay questions will be available to view in full at the time of the application’s release.

Resume

We require applicants to upload a .pdf of their resume.

Transcripts

We require a .pdf of your university transcript (either official or unofficial). This must include your cumulative GPA. If you have completed graduate coursework or post bacc curriculum, please include this transcript as well.

Professional photo:

Note: photos are not used in application processing or attached to your application upon review. Photos are used for clinics to help ID candidates if they come to visit later in the application process.

2 Letters of Recommendation

We strongly recommend that at least one letter come from an individual in the healthcare field or health-related work and at least one letter come from a professional or extracurricular reference rather than an academic professor. Recommendations are due at the application deadline (Early Bird Dec. 1st 11:59 PM or Main Round Feb. 15th 11:59 PM). Following the submission of your application, you will be notified by email once MedServe has received your two letters of recommendation.
