Sofia graduated from Elon University with degrees in sociocultural Public Health and Spanish. MedServe aligns with her passions for health equity and increased access to health care. In the past, she has co-conducted community based research to propose interventions for women experiencing pre-term birth. Additionally, she has aided in the development of a research project to address mental health and build resiliency among youth from refugee and immigrant families in the United States.
Sofia is always looking to learn about new things, travel, and try new foods. She is happiest when she’s reading, exploring outside, drinking way too much coffee, or jamming.
Bina is a recent graduate from East Carolina University, where she majored in Biology and Hispanic Studies. She hopes to attend medical school next year and is devoting her gap year to service through AmeriCorps VISTA.
She joined MedServe because she wanted a holistic view with a different perspective of healthcare before beginning medical school.
Bina loves spending time outdoors, especially to run, hike, or play soccer.
