Though we're biased, North Carolina is a wonderful place to live. MedServe sites are located all across the state, so no matter where a Fellow is placed, they're only a couple hours from either the beach or the mountains. North Carolina has a primary care landscape with rich resources and yet important health disparities. Home to two Top 25 medical schools, including the country’s #2 program in primary care, North Carolina is one of the best places in the United States to get to know innovative, service-oriented primary care.
Even given these resources, North Carolina faces many health disparities specific to the medically underserved that Fellows will be able to address. These include:
